Getting Backlinks by Asking Other Bloggers

By Randall Nielsen

Anyone who owns a blog wants to get relevant traffic, for without this it's impossible to make money, build a list, or whatever your goal might be. If you want your blog to take off and get better known, you need readers who have an interest in your niche. While one of the best ways to get links is to network with other bloggers, many new marketers hesitate to do this. It can be very helpful, though, to touch base with other bloggers, so you should get over your reluctance in this area. This isn't like asking for charity, as the blog owner will be getting access to content that's relevant to their readers. So it all depends on your approach; if you aim to help the other bloggers with quality content, you will definitely get a response.

First, be certain that what you are offering is something that other bloggers do not want to go without. You can do this by upping the quality of your post and at the same time giveaway something to make it more interesting. All you have to do is give away a picture that is related to your post so that they can put it with your blog post. Even though this does not have to be done with all of your blog posts, but it works just fine when you are highlighting a specific product or service. For example, if your post is reviewing "Play Station 2", then you can give them a picture that's about it. Of course, you do need to own the copyright for this picture or it should be copyright free. Your intention is to help them make good posts without their working a lot at it. That is the focal point. When other bloggers can tell that you are working very hard to make things a lot better for them, they will have the desire to link to your blog.

Secondly, the whole process of asking bloggers to link to your blog is extremely competitive. This is why you shouldn't lose hope if you don't get a response/reply from a blogger that you approached. Face it, a majority of the leading bloggers receive loads of fan mail asking them to link to blogs. They will not have the ability to look at all of the links that they are given. This is why you have to always remember to include information about what the link contains in the subject line of your email. This is so that you email has a better chance of being read. This will help your email to stand out a little bit more from the rest and really get more bloggers to pay attention to it.

Last, every one of your forward links have to have relevant information that the blogger's readers can use. Be extremely finicky in relation to forwarding your posts. This is because bloggers with good reputations will not link to vague content or any content that is not valuable to their readers. This forms an opening for you create a bond with the other bloggers in your niche. So don't make a wrong impression. Make sure that the blogger is not blogging in a niche that is not related to yours. The more specific you are in how you approach them, the better your results will be.

Finally, this article explores how the blogging community works internally and what you must do to get backlinks from quality blogs. Of course, you must work very hard in the very beginning. But, finding a network where the bloggers in your niche are members will greatly help you in the end. You just have to be able to concentrate on everything and not quit when you get disappointed.
