By Ruthida Namubiru

Did you know that every week over 100,000 people start in their own MLM work from home business?

What's the reason for this? The answer is simple. This kind of business model is a low start up, poses little risk and the return are high compared to the start up and costs to run it. However, there are some hard facts any one should know before someone starts their home business. If someone told you MLM is easy, they probably have forgotten the initial dull hours they put into it. There are certain crucial factors you need to put into consideration before signing up.

Bear in mind that there are far less MLM companies that have been around for more than 10 years, not that there is anything wrong with the business model, it's just that all those firms failed simply because they did not set up things right for the work from home businesses.

There are two reasons these companies failed. One, their products were not as good as they anticipated or their compensation plan was a disaster!

Therefore do your MLM Work From Home Business Due Diligence

1. The Compensation plan - Know what you are getting into. One of the first things you should look at is the compensation plan. There are different compensation plans out there, know which kind the company uses.

2. The product - What is their product? Is it one you can easily sell? What is it's quality? Is it reputable? Is it well advertised? Do you see your customers still ordering it 5 years down the road? If not, what are your plans?

#3. Training and Support: A good company will make available all the necessary resources and tools for their distributors to succeed in business both offline and online. It is obvious some companies are doing so well in this area and others are surely lacking.

If you've got a company in mind, for instance get on forums and find folks to talk to- people who work for that company. You will also have to look out for those who have failed. However, also keep in mind that the failure is very high in any MLM work from home business, mainly because people think they are going to earn money from day one, or they don't put in any effort and wait for money to fall from the sky.

You need to outline your marketing and sales plan before you join the business, to ensure you know how you will push the products and opportunity, because this is the only way you will make money.

All said and done, building a lucrative MLM work from home business takes time and a lot of commitment. So doing your due diligence before you invest your hard-earned money is a good step towards the right direction.
