Utilizing an Autoresponder Along with a Lead Generation Website

By Conrad Oconnorton

A lead generation website is one that inspires a visitor to make an investigation or opt in to get more info about products and services.

When setting up a new website for the needs of lead generation, or changing a site that hasn't got an opt-in box, consideration should be made when choosing an e-mail program.

Lead Generation Website Autoresponders

There are many wonderful corporations that will handle all your emails and these programs can be built to send out a series of pre-written messages as fast as someone signs up.

Mostly you can choose to require a double opt-in process to provide help in protecting both you and your prospects from getting punished due to spam mail complaints or not. I have found requiring prospects to confirm their request for more information seriously reduces the amount of leads you'll eventually get.

You may also want to write your emails to provide high value content - not just a sales spiel. Think it over. How long do you stay subscribed to an e-mail list that offers nothing less than a pretentious sales message every two days?

Consider also the information you ask for when you design your opt-in box. Folks do not like giving out too much information at first, but always get the subscriber's first and last names and you may have a box for any other information relevant to your business.

As an example, you might have a drop down box that lists the products on your site and from that you can find out particularly what info your customer is attempting to find. If you have six different products you can then build six different list in your email program and target info and other products especially to those people.

If you set up autoresponders or any kind of e-mail campaign, it's important that your e-mails are checked and checked again. Many individuals are not impressed by spelling mistakes, and rather more will not read an e-mail that may be a mile long. Make your emails exact and to the point, and written in short paragraphs, in easily digestible hunks.

Once your list has grown to a respectable size, you can also send out a once per month newsletter, informing subscribers about new goods and services you have added.

Address your subscriber by his first name, not "dear subscriber" as is frequently seen, and write your copy as if you're writing to a chum, don't blind subscribers with "get this" or "buy this", it turns folk off. The easiest way effect a sale is by helping folk, by giving them important information and anything free is always good, for example a free e-book.

Ensure that everything you send your subscriber is relevant and of worth. If your "unsubscriber" list builds too quickly, that may be a sure sign you are doing something wrong, though you'll always get some individuals that unsubscribe.

So understand that your auto-responder and the e-mails you send out are at the heart of your lead generation website. You would not have a lead generation website without it. So spend some time modifying and refining this aspect of your system. Do not simply throw out some e-mail pitches. Relate. Form a relationship. Ask for feedback and participation.

A lead generation website never sleeps so that you can!
