Technological Advancements And Business Trip Agencies

By Angela Smith

Based on history, a British company named Cox and Kings is the first travel agency that was established during the year 1758. At that time, this company only catered to wealthy people of the society. Nowadays, in the UK, travel management companies are usually grouped in three, namely: the multiples, the miniples and the independent companies. The companies that cater to nationwide travels are the multiples. Those travel agencies that operate regionally are known as miniples. And those that cater to special market are called independent companies.

A travel management company can be a private dealer or a public facility offering the public services in relation to tourism. Individuals who run this type of company oftentimes act as a mediator between suppliers and consumers. The suppliers, airlines, hotels and package excursions to name a few are the ones offering tourism services while the clients are those who purchase such offered services.

Time and again, travel companies secure a department to handle the travel arrangements. Corporate travel is usually a sub-department of travel agencies that has headquarters from other parts of the globe. This department deals with leisure travellers or corporate travellers exclusively.

Basically, the staff in this department ensure strategic approaches in travel management. They seal constant communication with the travel suppliers and customers to ensure a smooth sailing travel schedule for travellers. They also seal the safety and trip expenditures of travellers during the travel period.

It isn't wise to match up a corporate travel agency to a travel management company given that both have its own unique qualities. The former is all about travel management while the latter is a part of the travel company that is more hands-on to business trips. What's common between the two is that both enjoy the perks of getting commissions for each reservation of flights booked. Nevertheless, a certain Internet period threatened the business of travel agencies as travellers started making travel arrangements on their own. Then again, this field responded by creating websites and now they are back in the market competitive as always.
